November 20th Speaker
Magie Cook was raised in an orphanage in Mexico. Through her childhood she witnessed or experienced many forms of abuse - to her, her blood siblings and the over 60 children she shared a home with whom she also calls her brothers and sisters. At a very young age, Magie became their leader. She was grateful in spite of extreme limitations - like having only lettuce and sugar for a meal - and she always focused on what she had. Magie took this focused and intentional gratitude practice with her to the United States where she created a multi-million dollar salsa business. Magie joins us to talk about gratitude’s impact on how we view success, the world, and our role in it.
